Mini Excavators

Mini excavators for rent. Also called compact excavators. Tracked digging machines small enough for gated yards, basements and tight urban lots where a full-size excavator cannot go.

Many units in the class have a retractable or zero tail swing, so the machine can work with a wall immediately behind it. Available daily, weekly and monthly. We can supply an operator in New York City and the surrounding area; further out it goes as a bare rental.

Common questions

What size mini excavator do I need?

Work back from access, not from the digging. Measure the narrowest gate, door or path on the route in, then choose the largest machine that clears it.

What is zero tail swing?

The counterweight stays within the track width as the machine rotates, so it can work hard against a wall or a fence without the back end overhanging. On confined city sites it is often the deciding feature.

How much notice do you need, and what about site paperwork?

On a bare rental the constraint is availability, so tell us the dates and we will confirm what is free. Two things worth sorting early either way: many managed buildings require a certificate of insurance naming them as additional insured, so check their requirements before the day, and if you want us to run the lift rather than just supply the machine, permits can add time. Our permit breakdown covers what a given lift triggers.
