Common questions
How do I choose between a forklift, a telehandler and a crane?
A forklift carries a load at low level. A telehandler extends a boom to place it at height and at distance. Once the load is suspended on a hook you are into crane and rigging territory, which brings licensing requirements with it in New York City.
Does suspended lifting need a licensed rigger in NYC?
Yes. Lifting or lowering a suspended load in the city has to be supervised by a licensed master rigger, and that holds even where the equipment itself is exempt from a permit.
How much notice do you need, and what about site paperwork?
On a bare rental the constraint is availability, so tell us the dates and we will confirm what is free. Two things worth sorting early either way: many managed buildings require a certificate of insurance naming them as additional insured, so check their requirements before the day, and if you want us to run the lift rather than just supply the machine, permits can add time. Our permit breakdown covers what a given lift triggers.
